I've been applying to primary school jobs, family support workers, play worker roles and I've found a couple of nursery nurse roles on a ward.

Going to see what I get offered and go from there. I still want to work with babies/children

Yeah I'm planning on doing that after I finish second year

Reply 144

That's great! How was second year?

I can't believe last year went so fast. dissertation going great, nearly done. don't worry for third year as your supervisor helps a lot and you can send drafts to them

I love second year! I can't believe I will be finished next week! And the week after that I would finish my last assignment

I'm glad that you can send drafts to your supervisors, js there a limit on how many drafts you can give?

Reply 146

Good to hear.

Yes only one draft for each section. e.g. introduction, literature review and you get feedback to improve it

I'll be starting second year at UWL for Early Years Education so feel free to ask any questions

Hi, i might be joining UWL in sep to study civil engineering. how many days per week do you have to go to uni for it? i live in london so travel would be a pain if it was a full 5 days. how is the department there as well?

Unless you're doing nursing or midwifery normally it's 2 or 3 days a week

Reply 149

Depends what course you do. Mostly it is 3 days a week.

I just finished Early Years Education. The modules are very good and a wide range. Staff are very knowledgeable and academic support offer 1-1 sessions and group sessions to help you with your assignment and get good grades. There is loads of space to eat lunch and make friends and a great library service if you need access to libraries. It is up to you what you want to do with your degree e.g. be a teacher? I know some people on my course who have come to the end of it and decided they will explore new paths so you can keep your options open. Good Luck!

Thanks for replying, I don't to do PGE to become an early years teacher. Apart from becoming a teacher do you know what careers are there after graducation for example, what are you doing at the moment as I know you have finished the course?

thanks,

Hi. I am currently working with an agency working in nurseries. I have secured a EYFS TA position in a primary school and would like to do that for a couple of years.
You can work in nurseries, primary schools, social service, youth work etc. but sometimes you need further training if you want to be a social worker. There's a career adviser at UWL who can guide you if needed

I haven't been on campus yet.

Wat campus r education students mostly on?

St Mary's campus is the biggest so I assume that, with Brentford and Reading specializing in nursing and midwifery
