Do we have to learn how the laser scanning confocal microscope work in detail? It's so confusing

You don't have to go into massive detail about it but you do need to know the basics of it and information like how it works, resolution etc. the specification says ''To include an appreciation of the images produced by a range of microscopes; light microscope, transmission electron microscope, scanning electron microscope and laser scanning confocal microscope.''

Honestly, the one you need to learn mainly is light microscope as that's the most common questions you get but in my time of A levels I have never been asked about the details of any microscope and only just had questions onworking out actual size, image size and magnification. I'm not saying to exclude it out of your revision though
