Lol that's almost the same as what I did, but I had to do short course RE so I did 9.5 GCSEs and the AVCE. You have to remember though that a lot of people who say they got 14 GCSEs are including an Intermediate GNVQ as 4, so really they're doing less work than you.
I did 12 GCSEs - English A*, Eng Lit A, Maths A, Double Science A*A*, Spanish A*, French A*, Music A*, Electronics A*, Double ICT AA, R.E. B
We're only allowed to take 9 at our school but I took an extra one (drama) in year 8 so I ended up with 10
10 but I think at my school you can choose to do less - like only short course RS, single award Science or Business and ICT count as two or something.

At our schol you can only do 10 (that fills your timetable)
I got 1A*, 8A's, 1B (RE)

I was only allowed to do 11 (being at a private school)

Why do some private schools limit the number of GCSEs you can take? I've always wondered about that- since they're supposed to be better than state schools and get better results, you'd think they'd push you to take more.

I did 10 and then a half course in technology.

I believe it is because universities don't look beyond nine or ten GCSEs when making offers. So it's seen as better to have nine or ten good grades in "traditional" subjects than a larger number with not so good grades.

Oh right, makes sense, although a fair few students at the local grammar schools seem to get 13 A*s......I have 9.5 GCSEs, but only 7/7.5 are in 'traditional subjects' depending on whether or not you consider RS as 'traditional.' Then again, my school is a state comp, not a private school
I am doing 11.5
I did 2 Last year (Maths - A* and ICT - A) and this year am doing maths as (boo hoo) - A for S1 and U for C1 from the January exams!
