General engineering at durham

Hi I am unsure what discipline is for me but there are a few in mind such as aerospace, chemical, petroleum and software. The issue is you can only specialise in aerospace out of them. I was wondering if there is a way to specialise in the other disciplines I listed or not? Also if anyone is doing or has done the degree what is/was it like? Thanks
Look at other universities which do allow specialisations in those subjects? There are a number of other universities with stronger reputations for engineering which offer general engineering.

For example Aberdeen offers Chemical, Petroleum, and Mechanical (close enough to aerospace). Sheffield's general course offers Aerospace, Chemical, Software, and chemical is close enough to Petroleum.
