University for aerospace/space engineering

Hi,
I'm recently trying to apply for msc in aerospace or space engineering course or courses that would be compatible for aerospace engineering industry. I'm wondering if there are good university that someone could recommend me to apply.

I also recently go offer at Surrey university for msc space engineering. However, I'm a bit skeptical of accepting the course since it seems to be more focused towards electronics side and less to do with physical engineering aspects. So, I'm not sure if should go ahead with it.
honestly speaking Cranfield University is worth considering. they are famous only for Aerospace. they have great specializations in that course and have their own airport and wind tunnel for practicing. these facilitiies are very rare even in top ranked university. cranfield is still top 50 anyways.best value for miney.unfortunately i didnt get a place for that course at cranfield

Cranfield or Imperial or Southampton.
apply to all. decide by scholarshios and expenses. but asking me for just one: go for cranfield. imperial might be tougher to get into

Hey Agrg,

Great to see recommendations for Cranfield

What sort of thing are you looking to do? We have quite a few course in the aerospace / space sector,
Info on our Aerospace centre here: https://www.cranfield.ac.uk/themes/aerospace
On the space side of things we have an MSc in Astronautics and Space Engineering:

Most people haven't heard of Cranfield because it is a very specialised university, we only offer courses in a few disciplines, but that means we can really focus on our specialist areas. We're on an old RAF base so we have an airport, we also have our own aeroplane as a "flying classroom", as well as a lot of other cool facilities. Cranfield has really strong links to industry so learning is very practical and relevant, and you get a change to work on some exciting projects as part of your Group and Individual projects.

If you want to ask any questions about Cranfield, either on the courses or life here in general, please do ask me

The very large majority of the space industry in the UK is in the satellite industry, hence why Surrey's course focuses on electronics, because that's what will prepare you best for a career in aerospace afterwards.

Your other alternative is getting a very strong background in aerospace propulsion and aerodynamics and applying for Reaction Engines, which is very competitive.

Cranfield was a good university but it's current quality is quite far below what it used to be, and compared to other universities. One of my friends did his masters there in a subject closer to Cranfield's speciality (aeronautics development) and found that it didn't really expand upon what he had studied in his BEng. It's also in the middle of nowhere, which is something you can deal with if you're only there to get the masters and get out, but not great if you want an experience outside of that.
