Thu Sep 3-
So it's the 3rd of September and I still don't actually know when I'm moving in. This is ridiculous, but I've had correspondence to tell me that arrivals will be staggered and we'll have to book timeslots but still cannot do so. It's so close to the start of term now. Very anxious. I'm going on a zoom call with people on my course this afternoon so maybe I'll ask there if anyone has more of an idea than I do.
I know all 7 others who I'll be in a flat with, though, so that's nice, and we have a wider group chat for the floor, which might serve more purpose if social distancing is scaled back later in the year. Either way, it's very nice to have met everyone online already.
The university is spending £230,000 on events over the next six months, apparently, which is nice, and allows for more in-person things than I previously thought, including a partly in-person Freshers' Fair, potentially. I'm looking forward to seeing what's happening and knowing of some events for Freshers' Week as a whole, but haven't had anything on this yet, other than that there's an in-person event with the chemistry department on the Tuesday or the Wednesday weather dependent.
I haven't even begun to review my chemistry notes yet but I will look over the most essential things tomorrow, and into next week, ready to start. It still hasn't sunk in that I'll be an undergrad in 3 weeks. I was lying awake last night feeling pretty ill (am ok now) thinking how in three weeks it would be my first student night and yet it feels far away yet. Can't quite believe how close it is.
Thanks to everyone who's already replied, PRSOM if I haven't repped and hope you enjoy following this year!
edit: I've just been round the other uni blogs and I really need to get someone else to make up a title for me next year
edit #2: my tag list just broke please bear with, I don't know what's happening
