I couldn’t afford to live without it, how do other students survive financially? I’m the only person in the class that works

Dont you have a student loan?

You could take up a job as a tutor or a student ambassador or any job at or around your uni

Loans, I guess? Parents help them? There's multiple reasons, really.

My student loan covers pretty much everything I need right now. And thankfully if it didn’t my family would help out.

Could I apply for a loan in second year? I live in Scotland. I applied for grants before and got rejected

Well that should be good enough if it pays around 10 pounds an hour?

How are you paying your tuition fee?

I’m not sure how student loans work in Scotland, I’m assuming it’s different from England considering the student loan company used here is Student Finance England. I’m sure you can apply for one? No harm in trying.

Almost every student relies on maintenance loans, often as their main source of money.

You can get a maintenance loan (from SAAS in Scotland), even if you didn't apply for them in first year.
