Try as I might to forget it, that hideous Natasha Bedingfield song ("Theeeeese words are myyyyy own" ARGH!!!!) will remind me of Higher Drama, and it was also played in the common room constantly on Radio 1. It does not matter what other people think a relationship is about or what it should be based on, it is between 2 people and 2 people only, and if you both get what you want then there is no better relationship than yours. yes others may have the weekend in paris and the expensive gifts and the flowers and dinners every fortnight, but at least your relationship is honest and true and you have a clear conscience.

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?

Went to Cambridge.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Normally I don't bother with them at all; although there are a few competitions I feel I ought to enter (and win) next term; perhaps those count as resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

I should hope not.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Not enough.

5. What countries did you visit?

UK & Ireland.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?

Well there's a guy I'd like to seduce.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

None.

Getting into Cambridge, yawn.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Getting into Cambridge.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing stands out; my computer; a new translation of Don Quixote; a recording of Shostakovich's middle string quartets.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
