Yessssss huge congrats for handing in your NEA :woo: handed mine in this week too! :five:
I suppose that is something to be grateful for, no clashing exams in the same afternoon

Just checked the weather forecast, we might get snow tomorrow morning :headfire:

I like the song American money by børns , it’s maybe a bit too chilled for an ‘upbeat’ playlist but it’s a good one

Update #12: How many U-turns will there be?

:wavey: It’s been a while….and so much has happened! I have been putting off this update for many reasons, the main one being geography coursework, I also had one week where I got a big of a stomach bug, but I was also hoping it would allow me to express my view on how I feel about exams being cancelled, but with all these u-turns (and mini exams?!) I have felt whatever I say will just be irrelevant the next day. But here we go….

UCAS
So I have had offers from all 5 unis now :woo: since my last update I have received offers from:
Birmingham AAB (MEng) or ABB (BEng)
Southampton A*AA
My last offer came in about 3 weeks ago now, so I have had time to think about where I’m going to firm/insure, at the moment I think I am going to firm Birmingham, however I am also strongly considering Nottingham and Loughborough, so I am going to attend various offer holder talks and hopefully they will help me make my decision
On another note, I hope if you are in Y13 that UCAS has been treating you well over the past few months and if you applied to Oxbridge I hope you got the outcome you were hoping for :hugs:

Exams
So exams have been cancelled (or have they?) and even though the announcement was made 3 weeks or so ago, I still don’t really know how to feel. In some of my subjects I have done quite well and have been consistent in end of unit tests, in others (*cough cough* geography) I have been far from consistent and have no idea how things could turn out. One thing that I am happy about is not having to sit 3 exams totaling 7hrs 30mins all in one day

I was due to have my mocks on the first week after Feb half term, then they got pushed back to March 8th and now they’ve been pushed back “until further notice” which isn’t….great. At the minute I have no idea what my final grades are going to be, guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the government announces next.
So yeah, like many other Y13s I have been extremely unmotivated, I have been turning up to online lessons and literally done the bare minimum. I’m hoping over the next few weeks I’ll find some motivation, even if it is just to re-look over some of the Y12 content.

Other interesting things that have happened in my life:
-This month has brought a couple of my friends 18th birthdays so its been nice to have zoom calls/play online games as a way of celebrating 😊
-I have started trying to get out on my bike again since hockey has been cancelled, but the cold weather isn’t really helping
-SNOW, we have been quite lucky to have a couple of snowfalls over the last month and with living in what feels like the middle of no where I have been going to build snowmen and just walk through the local fields, which has been nice during lockdown
-I have released my inner child and dug out some of the LEGO I had in the attic and started building some stuff over the weekend
Other than that I haven’t really done much, just been watching Netflix and lazing around

Joke/Pun time :woo:
Its been a while so I’ll treat you to two:

How does a penguin build a LEGO house?

Wow, that was a long update, but it was also long over-due. I hope you and your families are safe and well. If you are lucky enough to get snow tomorrow (I am forecast some  ), hopefully you’ll get chance to relax and have a walk in it.

Have a wonderful week and stay safe! :hugs: - Becca x

(Also if you have any like happy/upbeat song recommendations I would really appreciate them, I'm trying to create a happy playlist help keep my mood up )

Thank you, it’s hard at times but I’m getting there I’m just worried about exams next year as I really don’t want to go to university never having set exams so I’m actually unlike some hoping we do have them

I personally think that your year will do exams, but they may not be in the usual format. I get how you feel but just remember everyone in your year is in the same position, so unis will take this into consideration when you start

Hehe...welll...lifes happened..

I'm alive :woo: long story short around March last year my laptop decided to die every 5 mins so life became a little hectic, especially as a lot of revision was online. Probably the main reason I stopped posting  but here we are.

15 month update in 3 sentences:
-Got what I needed in my alevels
-Now at Birmingham Uni
-Just found out I've passed my first year

Anyway appreciate this forum is well and truly dead but thought I'd give a quick life update.

Hope you've all managed to survive this heat, bye for now :hugs:
how brilliant! congratulations <3
