AV+ Voting System - Opinions?

Do you think that AV+ would be a good voting system for the UK if the ratio of constituency and regional seats was 50:50, like the Electoral Reform Society has come up with for AMS/MMP?

Better than the current system but I would prefer STV as they have in the Irish Republic. Less party control of who gets elected, more chance of a few independent MPs.

I see no real incentive to change a voting system which has worked perfectly well for centuries.

I would support a reduction in seat numbers though, probably to about 500 in both houses.
