I have no idea what I want to do after my degree either but hopefully these next 3 years will give us enough time to decide!

I hope so! People keep pressuring me because I have no idea but I feel like I'll get more of an idea once the course starts :h:

Update Time!

I've been feeling emotionally exhausted lately so forgive be for being not so enthusiastic today. :groovy:

- I went shopping and got some more food that I forget to get yesterday. (I bought gnocchi and have no idea what to eat with it. :erm:

- I got my student ID card/ lanyard today! I feel more like a university student as the days progress. :woo:

- I tried that coca-cola energy drink finally. I have to say it tastes horrible! Honestly, it tastes like pure caffeine and I'm not here for it. :eviltongue:

- Although I'm looking forward to my course I'm still nervous about how I still have no idea where I want to go with my English degree post graduation.

- I've also been avoiding my friends here today and stayed in my room. I don't feel like doing much today. :nope:

Not being rude but like shouldn’t you have had an idea before going to uni because you are going to be in lots of debt? Maybe an English teacher

It saddens me that English teacher is the first thing that comes to mind for most. I'm aware that my degree can open up many opportunities that aren't limited to 'teaching careers'. This is why I chose English as my degree since whatever I decide many employers appreciate the skills that come with an English degree. :h:

I will be actively looking into what interests me and that will in turn give me more of an idea for my ideal career path once I graduate.
Let’s not use that kind of language on someone’s blog please.

You’ll definitely get a feel for what you want to do as you get stuck into your degree - also it’s worth checking to see what kind of opportunities your uni has (for example they probably will have a careers advice department as part of their student support or something similar). I’d definitely recommend snatching up any opportunities that come your way - it could be the slightest thing like networking with big firms or taster days etc, anything will help (plus it’ll help build your cv too) :yep:
It was a question lmao, not a statement. Calm down

This is really good advice. THANK YOU!
I’m not offended personally, but this is someone else’s blog and it’s my duty as a forum helper to maintain a good atmosphere whenever I can. Swearing can be inflammatory and can escalate a situation so I’m just doing my job :h:

Welcome back to this wee blog right here! Let's fill you in on what you've missed from last night. :fyi:

- I was emotionally exhausted yesterday night so I didn't really feel like talking to anyone. :ashamed2:

- I had a couple people over in my flat kitchen and we played card games. :yep:

- I also just burst into tears that night because I bottled it all up. My friends comforted me and all gave me hugs and stayed up until 5 am to watch stand up comedy to cheer me up on Netflix. :grouphugs:

- This morning I tried to made french toast but the hob wasn't working. It took more that 30 mins to actually cook the bread! Like the pan was hot enough to burn my finger but it wasn't enough to cook properly! :cookie:

- Tonight Marshall (my neighbour/ friend) wants to have a 'serotonin sesh' at his flat with just us as a group, playing games as a chill and relaxing night. :daydreaming:

- I also finally spoke to my counsellor on the phone since I moved and I brought her up to date with what's going on and how I've been feeling. I think I'm starting to become more confident in speaking to people. :teehee:

Most people are friendly here and I'm so glad the friends I've made are supportive and protective of me. They make me feel safe which is what I've always wanted :h:

I'm doing okay and I haven't started my course yet but it starts on 21st and my welcome week is in a couple days so not long now

oh yay ur back was wondering where u had gone
think its time for an update
Update Time!

I'm sorry I haven't been on here much. I took a little break due to some personal reasons that I might address on today's update. :pinch:

- Again I've been emotionally exhausted and honestly its affecting how i socialise with my friends. I a lot more quiet and reserved than I was a few days ago. :blushing:

- I went to Wagamama's today with my friends so that was NICE! Although I did eat 2 bowls of noodles before so I was unable to finish my food which was wait for it... MORE NOODLES! (Pad Thai to be exact) :awesome:

- One reason I could be feeling so down is that I've recently been going through a break up so its all feeling a bit strange to me. Luckily I have all my friends to look to when I need emotional support. :erm:

- I face-timed my mum today and we spoke about how I've been doing and she also said she's here for me. I'll be seeing her on the weekend I think since she's working on her birthday (Wednesday 16th Sept) and wants to see me. She also said I could invite 3 of my friends as we're going Whetherspoons and allowed 6 people. I'm not sure who to invite as I haven't known them that long. I'm wondering how awkward it would be. :cookie:
