aah good luck with oxford applications! glad you managed to reach a decision, and also glad you didn't actually have covid  i've also been considering giving in and organising myself with notion but at the moment I absolutely don't have the energy to even try to get my head around it lol. would you reccomend?

in terms of online v in person I think I prefer the actual method of learning in person because it's less of me trying to self motivate and a little bit more me being 'made' to do work which is definitely better for my grades! although some days I am absolutely NOT in the mood to drag myself in and sit through a day of lessons so I potentially wouldn't mind a few online classes...

hehe thank you... i still don’t have the motivation to use it in the way that some studytubers do but it’s free so give it a go, personally i just use ‘personal home’ and i have a daily to-do list and that’s all

i guess i’m quite lucky that i’m mostly self motivated then :dontknow:
Woop woop about the oxford decision :yep: I guess that it helps that you’re not overly fussed as whatever they decide either way :rave: (sure you’ll smash it though :hugs:)

Ooh I saw Unjaded Jade’s video about notion but it looked a bit too complicated :mmm:

There’s a lot of stuff happening this term, so you’re doing absolutely amazingly :yep:

I prefer in-person school because we didn’t have any actual teaching during lockdown, only textbook/worksheet work

Hope you have an amazing week!

it is... but i just followed the tutorials and have made really simple things instead

yes online school can have its limitations :s-smilie:

Yeah, I’ve decided to give it a go - I’ve registered for the MAT so it’s feeling very real now

Ahhh, it looks pretty useful, might try it for uni :gah:

Guess it depends on the quality of teaching, it can be great for some people a rubbish for others (though school has set up Teams so we can have actual lessons if a year group has to be sent home :yep: :rave:)
ahh best of luck with the oxford application!! :woo:

i deffo prefer real uni to online uni :frown: i find it so hard to motivate myself from home and with no access to the study spaces

thank you, i guess uni is a whole different thing! cos you’re paying for something online... not so good  hope this year goes okay for you whatever it ends up being :gah:
i’m glad your isolation is over and best of luck with your uni stuff and mocks:raves
please take time to look after yourself:smile: year 13 is hard enough without the additional stress of corona that you’ve got!

thank you for the reminder! :hugs:
24 hours in a day is not enough

i said this last week but IM SO TIRED and i’ve found it really hard to fit in all my tasks! i don’t know if it’s because i did more than usual over lockdown and so i’m perhaps giving myself too much to do each day in addition to travelling and having the full hour of lessons?? but yeah it’s been very overwhelming and my mental health is going downhill fast but i’m trying my best to stay afloat :gah:

our school implemented some new rules so i don’t have to come in each morning for registration unless i have a 9am lesson :woo: and they’ve got rid of all the annoying extra lessons we had for study and extension opportunities. it means i have a little more free time which i’m thankful for!

also just noticed when i write my summaries i always say we not i lol,, this is obv just me but it feels so weird saying ‘i learnt this’ - anyone else feel the same or am i strange? overthinking at it’s finest

biology

teacher 1) we learnt about the nitrogen cycle in a double lesson so it was quite nice to be able to consolidate it fully, then a lesson looking at essays where we wrote paragraphs about the nitrogen cycle. i’m now planning to write up an essay about the role of water as ongoing revision to develop my essay writing. apart from that i think we are done and moving onto the homeostasis unit, can’t remember exactly what it’s called??

teacher 2) phew we have finished photosynthesis and it’s so hard to remember all the steps :gah: this week we did the chromatography required practical and something extra outside the spec on experiments that people did to figure out how this whole photosynthesis thing works

chemistry

teacher 1) completed PAG 9.2 with some juicy, time consuming data analysis. it is fun to be doing practicals again even if this time it was just some simple rates of reaction. then i have also done some exam questions in the lesson on what we have covered so far, and looked at initial rates/clock reactions.

teacher 2) a lesson on acid anhydrides and how they form which was a little complex. we have mostly finished up with this unit and have a test next thursday

spanish

teacher 1) wrote some summaries of the book so far, and then read some more. how exciting...

teacher 2) we are going through the textbook and positive impacts of immigration. also in terms of grammar i’ve done when to use ser and estar and some more translation stuff.

epq

had the meeting with my supervisor and there was some really positive feedback. ngl trying to balance epq now i’m back in actual school is not fun but i don’t have too many edits to make and (i know this is probably way too optimistic) i’m going to try and edit it over the weekend and then send it back so i can make some progress again

ucas

no update from my referee so we wait :erm:
bmat prep is NOT going well oops, pretty convinced i will fail but i’m trying to get lots of revision in and hoping for the best

i think this week has gone especially fast... hoping and praying for a slow week so i can cope with all this extra work i’m setting myself  (and that’s the other thing!! actual work i’m set is hardly anything so it’s not like i have a big workload i’m just stressing myself out with ALL THIS WORKKKK)

please let me know if you want to be added/removed from the tag list
bubble squad :bubbles:

Spoiler

i say we too lmao, we're learning as a class! I feel you on the trying to fit everything into a day - I'll see how I only have a few actual homework tasks and tell myself I can easily do them in a few hours of private study in school then feel awful when I only manage to do some?? i'm sure we'll work out a balance at some point :h:
sounds like a busy week! make sure you have some time to rest, you've got this :rave:

Get some rest and make sure you're taking care of yourself. Treat yourself to a lazy day every now and again.
It looks like a productive week!
