What career to pursue?

I'm going into year 13 shortly, and really don't know what career to pursue, I'm only interested in making a lot of money to be honest. I'm looking at applying for dentistry as its average pay seems to be pretty high (I know its extremely hard to get into) but i'm not completely sure.
Any tips or suggestions?
You may feel money makes you happy, but don't pursue a career you're not really interested in just because it has good pay. Dentistry is a good career: it pays wells, will never be automated (at least not in our lifetimes), jobs are literally in every city and town and the work can be flexible with some employers. However, are you happy sitting in the same room looking in people's mouths for 10 hours a day for 40 years? It's a lot of training at a huge expense so you need to be invested in the career. Pretend the salary was half of what it is - would you still want to do the job? Money is great, but having a rewarding/exciting/fulfilling career you enjoy may be more valuable in the long run.
