What is the difference between 'fast track' and 'standard' language courses at LSE?

Hi! I'm starting at LSE this September and we're set to pick courses soon. I can choose to do a language specialism with my degree and I'm having trouble deciding what courses to pick. They offer two variants for the introductory French course I want to take -- a 'standard' version and a 'fast track' version. Both of them aim to bring students to CEFR's A1, which implies they're not very different. The course outlines aren't different either.

What is the difference between 'fast track' and 'standard' language courses at LSE? Which course variant should an absolute beginner pick? I haven't found any information online.

If you are taking language courses as part of your degree programme, in order to obtain a specialism, you will be selecting from the French degree options listed here.

The fast-track option is offered as part of the non-degree language course options. These courses will not count towards your degree nor appear on your transcript, so are not relevant to students wishing to obtain a language specialism. If you require more information, please contact the Language Centre.
