I have been given a list of books to get for the start of my induction:
Perkins, M. (2015). Becoming a Teacher of Reading. London: Sage.

Johnston. R. & Watson, J. (2014). Teaching Synthetic Phonics 2nd Ed. Exeter:

Learning Matters.

Joliffe, W. Waugh, D. Carss, A. (2015). Teaching Systematic Synthetic Phonics in

Primary Schools 2nd Ed. London: Learning Matters

Lewis, M.& Ellis, S. (ed) (2006). Phonics, Practice, Research & Policy. UKLA

Ward, H. and Roden, J., (2016). Teaching science in the primary classroom: a practical guide. 3rd ed. London: Sage.

They seem very pricy. Where can I find out if previous students have their books for sale, or somewhere I can get the books from for a 2nd hand price.

Sounds a bit obvious but have you tried Amazon?

Tbh I'm holding off on buying any textbooks until I know which ones are absolutely necessary for my assignments etc. My uni's put a lot of the relevant stuff online so there's no need, really!
