Does anyone here gamble occasionally? It is a very bad habit to get into but sometimes I do it. Though I am trying to quit.

I studied maths as part of my engineering course.
That had enough probability & statistics in it for me to consider anywhere that pushes gambling (a quick endorphin/adrenaline/dopamine etc hit) as a criminal establishment.

Good luck, study math!

I love being in the casinos. I don't gamble like I used to. I gambled maybe three times last year, sometimes online. I used to go more frequently, but it is a losing endeavor. I once hit five jackpots in one month on wooricasino

It seems to me that I was born a gambler!
Back in my younger days, I' am sure I would've enjoyed the clubbing scene because I wouldn't have had the money to gamble.
But for now a trip to Vegas is about spending endless hours at the slots and sipping on free drinks. Heaven, I tell you! Now because of Covid, I play only online https://bettingdude.com/online-casinos/

I often play in casinos and place bets on sports. It gives me great pleasure! This is a great way to take a break from work and the hardships of study and more.. it helps to relax and feel more confident, in some way.

A lot of people that I’ve seen betting in casinos, are gambling (somehow) with ‘other people’s money’ (based on discontinuous sampling at the casinos of Monaco/Monte-Carlo & Divonne-les-bains in France)

An evening at the casino with friends can be an entertaining time, nice drinks, losing money to the professional house (look up the reasons for ‘green’ “0” and “00” on roulette wheels, for example) important to set limits and avoid losing your house, home, friends and family, and not end-up sleeping in a cardboard box under a bridge. “Pleasure” in extremis.

Italy, where I live, has (temporarily) banned all form of societal gambling as there isn’t any spare cash in the economy, and people are so affected by the economic crash that they were starting to take big gambling risks. The house ALWAYS wins in gambling. One of the most remarkable points of my casino visits was the very scary identification check before I was allowed in to these ‘pleasure palaces’ passport was needed, which was checked on the gambling world’s secret ‘punter or player’ database - has this person ever won anywhere?, do they have a Ph.d in Maths or statistics?, I passed entry, having only ever lost money, and only knowing engineering maths & statistics. Be very scared!

The chips were nice, I made a pair of earrings out of some that I took home, and they made a nice colourful gift to my friend.

If you want, I could go on further about the embedded technology in the chips and cards, that allow the latest casino tables to not only scan exactly which cards etc are where, but what values of stakes/chips are in play at any instant. It’s so not ‘random’, whatever you might think of, whilst ‘enjoying’ the show.... read further

I've been to casinos a few times & enjoyed it. It's not something I'd want to make a regular habit of though.
