My course was full this year so they gave me a place in 2021 entry and I am unsure on what to do for the year. I don't want to work 24/7 because I still want to keep my mind on education and I don't wanna waste the year like I wasted my time in lockdown.

Gain some experience, get a part-time job etc.

Get a job to save money for uni, get experience related to what you’re going to study, go to the gym, learn how to cook, learn how to drive if you don’t already know. Might be able to travel without risk later on in your gap year aswell - but overall just try to have a progressive yet enjoyable year.

I’d suggest getting some experience-either paid or voluntary.
Sign up to some courses to learn a language.

Always a possibility of that happening-but try to keep connected somehow to the subject. Read books about it -not just module textbooks but fiction or non fiction stories involving it. Was there an a level that you didn’t do that might have helped -buy the textbooks and self study.
There’s also courses on OpenLearn that are all free that may interest you, range from a few hours content to a few weeks - all different topics.
