Hey guys!

I am quite interested in beauty product making and researches and was wondering if any of you know what courses (biochem, biomed?) are good for this?

not many places offer it, but there are degrees in cosmetic and pharmaceutical science which sounds like what you're looking for, like this one:

Thank you!
In that case, would you say many people first do biochem then do something related to it in masters?

I believe some people would go the route of doing a more specialised masters.

I think if you don’t want to do the de Montfort or UAL course so you have more options you should do either Chem, Biochem or Pharmaceuticals/pharmacy then maybe specialise with a masters/experience/phd. Also think about what part of cosmetic manufacture you’re interested in (formulation, research, quality control etc.) I did the MSc Cosmetic Science at LJMU.

Hi 15m0808,

You should definitely check out the MSc Cosmetic Science course at London College of Fashion. This is a four year programme (the first three years at BSc level and the 4th year at MSc level). This course also offers an optional year out in industry between your 2nd and 3rd year (which would then take 5 years to complete). LCF is part of the University of the Arts London - it is our largest college and specialises in all aspects of fashion - design, media and business. This course sits in our Business School. LCF is also ranked the top fashion college in the world by CEO World Magazine and is internationally recognised for its quality of graduates.

The course is currently based at our John Princes Street site (Oxford Circus - central London) but will be moving into a new site in the Olympic Park (Stratford, East London) from 2023. I would suggest you book onto an open at LCF to find out more about the course and college if you're interested.

Best wishes,
Sian
