Haven’t posted in a while.
IF I had a huge house and all that in the olden days, I would have maids.
IF I had a huge house now, would you employ people to do domestic service?

Just wondering by the way.

Well, yeah. I mean, I've had a cleaner for flats quite often - the distinction being, of course, that they're not an employee.

It'd be near impossible for a working single person or couple to keep on top of a significantly sized property themselves.

I know that - I meant a whole group though - not just one or two. I meant like 15.
Like kitchen maids, scullery maids, cooks, all house maids
Do they still have these

You'd not need as many (technology makes things quicker) but yes there's a good chance that one would still need a cook, cleaner, nanny ect..

I mean, yeah, if you're running a palace or a very large scale stately home, maybe. But a normal country house won't have that level of domestic staff nowadays.

Well if it really was a huge house youd have to. A single person (or even a family for that matter) simply cannot maintain a large property like that.

No.

I like to stay grounded, I'd never have a property that's too large for me to manage, why do I need it and its morally wrong when do many cant afford a roof over their head.
