How to get over social anxiety in gap year

I want to become less socially anxious this year and work on myself but I don’t know how, I know to get better when it comes to that kind of thing is do what you hate most which would be socialising with strangers for me but I don’t know what social thing I can do in a gap year that will help

Maybe get a job in hospitality or retail? I used to be very socially awkward until I started working as a waitress, but it has really helped me to become more confident at talking to strangers! And you can earn some money too

Consider seeing a doctor perhaps?
I second getting a job in retail or hospitality: I did both and it really helped.Babysitting, tutoring, volunteering, joining a club. If it's really bad, start with baby steps: aim to meet people's eye, smile and just say hi. Make small/micro talk to get used to speaking to people.Good luck!
