Liverpool yes as long as you have a good PS as they value that a lot. Plymouth’s cut off was 2510 last year so chance they may increase it. Sheffield are known to have high cut offs. I had 2630 last year but got rejected from Birmingham even though my gcses were strong, so I’m presuming their cut off is high

I would maybe have a look at Leeds

Hello again
So after thoroughly going though universities websites I have narrowed out my uni selections to the following
1. Dundee university
2. Plymouth university
3. Birmingham university
4. Liverpool university
In two minds about Glasgow university.
My stats
GCSE 99998888887
Predicted AAA
UCAT 2730 band 3.
Lots of work experience.
I live in Dubai at the moment but I will apply as a Scottish student as our ordinarily residence is in Scotland, family house etc. we are in Dubai due to dad work.
Please can you let me know if my choices are wise?
Shall I include Glasgow instead of any other English uni?
Any help would be much appreciated

how about Belfast. Have you thought and discussed with your family the distance to Plymouth from your home town if you are based in Scotland.

Will Belfast accept Scottish students as home students?

Thank you so much for your reply and congratulations on going to start this September! I hope next year this time I'll be replying to a student and help them like just you did!!
I will for sure do the BMAT, do you have any suggestion when to start preparing for it?

Hi, sorry for the belated response. I just made sure I was well informed of the BMAT specification, did all of the past papers to ensure I had a deep understanding. NGL i only did 4 essay plans. The ucat has kind of prepared you for BMAT section 1. Section 2 is all practice and specification. Section 3 is just your ability to waffle. I did 300 words on my essay and still got i think, 3.5 or 4.5 A. Which, I think is above average for Leeds applicants

I can not see why not. it is part of the UK.

I think I remember you mentioning that you received an offer from Leeds - can I know the shortlisting process for interview for Leeds? They go off by a point system, I heard that medicine cut off for phase 1 was 37/40, what is it for dentistry?

From my very limited knowledge of graduate entry dentistry, I'm afraid to say that 2700 isn't exactly the target score they've been looking for. The thresholds for the past couple of years has been 29/3000+ for graduate entry into KCL. Not too sure about Barts but I'd say it's probably similar. A 2:1 is pretty good, enough (I think) to put you at the min reqs, however graduate entry is really competitive and I'm not sure how good your chances are. It's brilliant that you've got a lot of experience, and you'll be able to show that off if you manage an interview, however your UCAT score is maybe lower than what's required. However, if you really want to go for it, by all means do so and best of luck!

Thank you soo much for taking the time to get back to me I really appreciate it. I am looking to apply to the undergraduate route too, I was looking at the spreadsheet they provided in response to the freedom of information requests for their stats and saw many people received offers with UCAT scores over 2600, does my UCAT score limit me with the undergraduate entry too?:frown: Also Barts is stressing me out because they have stated they did not shortlist anyone with a 2.1 for medicine or dentistry last year, which is heartbreaking considering I had an interview with them 2 years ago and my UCAT average was 580! :frown:

Hi
you should look after number one that is you by maximising your chances of an offer. do not worry about others and do the BMAT with the aim to get high 4s or 5 in BMAT sections 1 and 2. you must give yourself all the chances to get interviews and offers by hard work and try all options including BMAT as opposite to not getting offers.

Hello. I have a question about personal statement. Is it good or bad to mention that your mum/dad is a dentist/doctor?
