Hi guys, I am a yr 12 and I know I dont have much time to apply for my GCSE retakes. I'm just wondering whether universities will still accept me if I don't reach the entry requirements for gcses(as some require specific grades)..for example I would like to do accounting and finance at uni, and the majority I have looked, ie leeds wants a gcse maths grade of 7. And english language a 6. I got a 6 in maths and a 5 in english language. If I passed their entry requirements for A level, would they still accept me eveb though I havent reached the gcse grades criteria? (In this case 1 grade off of their gcse criteria) Many thanks...I just don't want to be rejected from university that if they consider gcses

They put those requirements for a reason. You could try asking them but do you honestly expect them to say 'no, we juts put those requirements for the hell of it. We don't care if you don't meet them'? You'd be better off re-sitting or considering somewhere where you do meet the criteria.

unlikely, requirements are there for a reason. you'll just need to research more unis if you're finding ones where you don't hit requirements.
