Hi there,

I am a student who will be living at the uni accomodation in Royal Holloway, however, I will often travel to London (about 4 times per month).

To travel to London I take the south western line and switch to southern.

I wanted to ask how I can reduce my travel costs.

I have some ideas in mind but would like further support:
- Super offpeak travel times
- Santander Student Account gives free railcard for a third off
- Student Season ticket

I am not sure if when you have a season ticket, you can use your railcard to reduce the price of it or even whether you can get different season tickets with super offpeak.

Is it even worth paying for a season ticket for travel about 4 times per month or does it require more frequent travel?

Any support would be greatly appreciated! 🙂🙂

Season ticket would not be work it for that amount. Cheapest option is usually a rail card, advance booking AND often splitting your tickets - so doing multiple tickets for one journeys by splitting the journey up. There are sites that will calculate this for you.
