If you don't take furthermaths a level are you disadvantaged when applying for economics at top unis like oxbridge/lse?

I definitely think it would be questioned why you didn't when most of the people you will be competing against for places will have done - in short, yes it would IF the course is offered at your college. If not then there is nothing you can do about it and there are other ways to stand out in your application with relevant extra curriculars, work and/ore experience.

The website for LSE specifies that they find further maths desirable: https://www.lse.ac.uk/study-at-lse/U.../BSc-Economics
As competition is so high at these universities, I would go for it if you are able to at your sixth form/college

just do it. Further maths a level is often preferred to economics a level
