Career Change to TeachingWatch
I'm currently working in law but am thinking about a career change. I've worked in law since I graduated from Uni a good few years ago now. Recently, the nagging question at the back of my head about whether I want to do this job in the long term has come to the front of my mind and the answer is no!
When I was younger, I had ambitions to teach. But I changed my mind before Uni and went down the law route. And it's a path that I have gone down since.
I do enjoy the subject of law, just not practicing it. I am now actively considering looking at teaching law in a Sixth Form or FE college but don't know where to start!
I know the subject and have plenty of industry experience but have no teaching qualifications. Equally, with working full time and not being in a position to take a year out to do a PGCE or get classroom experience I don't really know where to start.
I also don't know what the job opportunities would be like for my, admittedly, very narrow criteria (I wouldn't really want to go into secondary school teaching). Any ideas, resources or thoughts from people with similar experience would be really helpful!
