I am incredibly eager when it comes to planning and am already looking into places to rent for the 2021 school year. I will be coming from the US so I am having a hard time approaching the search process. Does anyone have recommendations - sites to consider, agents, etc? It would need to be furnished and pet friendly; the city is dependent on what postgraduate program I choose but it is between Luton, Treforest, Bradford, and Glyntaff.

you'll need to look at going with a landlord privately rather than through an agent in most cases and you ll need to pay a higher deposit in a lot of situations if you want a pet.

Furnished, a pet and a student - that's not likely to be a reasonable combination unless you also have a car (because you'll have to be in a smart area, not central and not near Uni/student accommodation) plus pay professional rates. If your pet is just a goldfish you might get away with it, but cats/dogs and furnished flats are a no-no and adding student on top of that will make it nigh on impossible.
