I actually made excel spreadsheets on the likely ‘magic fairy points’ needed for access to TCD, calculated all available historic data from the PDF’s at central office of applications. I was doing it for european baccalaureate and non-medical applications.
Stuff like http://www2.cao.ie/points/lvl8_18.pdf
http://www2.cao.ie/points/l8.php (2020 data)
http://www.cao.ie/index.php?page=points&bb=mediastats

The great thing about Eire is they allow application to around ten colleges, and you can change that application even up to May.

It doesn’t help you that much, as you’re in the highly competitive medical entry, so read all & everything. Fire up MS office, however as a guesstimate - assume at least 80%(+/-5%) for the ‘top’ courses, plus a number of prerequisites....at least Eire does allocation based upon actual results, not vague guesses?

You have to work at it!, (most of the data is at CAO), that was the message
Plus Ireland does have the special conditions for med...

I also did a lot of searches through the Irish newspapers, there were some money orientated £13k unis... who didn’t get a good write-up in the press

General news here, for example, https://www.irishtimes.com/news/educ...rses-1.4352892

Medical acceptance CAO points news for 2020 here https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crim...case-1.4357448

In the end, was awarded a place at a nice college in Dun Laoghaire, beautiful place, but I went to Scotland instead.

So, I looked a bit deeper, and you
1) have to be sitting the right sort of mix of subjects at IB
2) then get somewhere above these points

......a minimum of 480 Irish Leaving Certificate equivalent points, the calculation of which is outlined below:

International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma points equivalency calculator

Overall IB score/Irish Leaving Certificate points
45 IB points_______________600 points (equivalent to 560 moderated LCE points)
44 IB points_______________597 points (equivalent to 560 moderated LCE points)
43 IB points_______________576 points (equivalent to 556 moderated LCE points)
42 IB points_______________564 points (equivalent to 553 moderated LCE points)
41 IB points_______________552 points (equivalent to 551 moderated LCE points)
40 IB points_______________531 points
39 IB points_______________519 points
38 IB points_______________508 points
37 IB points_______________497 points
36 IB points_______________486 points

3) AND Sit the HPAT-Ireland in the same year of admission to the programme.

4) fees & costs depend on EU/non-EU status, probably

CAO does offer extra magic fairy Bonus points for Mathematics: Students with Higher Level Mathematics will be awarded 25 additional Irish Leaving Certificate equivalent points

Note magic fairy points are a light hearted way of describing the actual Irish school leaving Certificate equivalent points, which vary quite a bit in thresholds from year to year, but are verified automagically by computer, in August.

So all those above points were direct from RCSI website

Looking deeper into CAO we find first round 2020 points actually were

2020
ROUND 1
Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland

RC001 Medicine - Undergraduate Entry (HPAT required) #733
RC004 Physiotherapy 566
RC005 Pharmacy 579
RC101 Medicine - Graduate Entry (GAMSAT required)

And that hash?, places. # Test / Interview / Portfolio / Audition

Just seven hundred and thirty three CAO points, but it varies, from year to year, is that ~ 140% at IB?
