Has anyone here ever taken AS/A Level Classical Civilisation?

I'm choosing my A level subjects and I really want to take it (OCR exam board). However, I don't know that much about it and couldn't find much about it either but I'll continue trying.

I'm thinking about taking English Literature, Sociology and Classical Civilisation together but my parents are worried that these are not the best subjects for me to earn a degree or get a job in.

So far I intend to study Classics at Uni and my parents can't visualize what possible job opportunities I can get with a degree in Classics. Any suggestions on anything would be very much appreciated. Do you think my combination of A level subjects is suitable to study Classics at Uni? How did you find the Classical Civilisation A Level? What can I do with a Classics degree?

Thanks!

If you go to a good to very good uni then it will be fine for the 40% of jobs that stress no specific subject.
To do that you need very good grades.

I know someone who did Classics at Reading uni (so not even a top uni) and now has a job teaching the subject at a private school with a free house on the grounds as part of the job - not bad!

Other job ideas will be similar to those for people with a History degree. I think if you have an interest in Ancient Greece and Rome then you should go for it. It is a widely respected subject - even LSE list it as one of their "preferred subjects"
