Volts are don't indicate how dangerous something is. You can produce 3,000 volts by rubbing your socks on the carpet.


Not sure of the point you're making. Yes, energy is the issue, so we need to consider source/circuit impedance too, not purely volts. But comparatively speaking the USA's 110 volt supply is proportionately less dangerous with regard to electric shock than our 230 volt one.

American outlets are more dangerous because you are far more likely to come into contact with the mains electricity, you have to try pretty hard to actually actually touch the mains electricity in the UK because of all the safety measures we have.
