Is it better to go to a catered or self-catered college at Durham University?

Ive heard that if you like potatoes catered is the way to go as they serve about 6 variations. I think if you are a fussy eater self catered is best but if not and you dont mind the extra cost having meals cooked takes the pressure off to make time to buy cook food etc. Also most catered colleges offer a small pantry/ kitchen area where you can make snacks etc.
