Seems to be a lot of uncertainty here, I can’t speak for Markets as I believe it all works slightly differently, at least as of last year, but for all other programs, applications are rolling, but in a sense.

You do your tests and video interview and are ranked against everyone else in terms of your results for them. AC’s are rolling throughout the year, with each AC having the (currently) highest ranked candidates, if that makes sense. Once at the AC, they can take everyone there on the day, or no one, or anywhere in the middle. If after an AC, they still have space, they take the next batch at the top of the list for another AC, repeat until full.

Hopefully that clears things up, I should say I don’t have official information to back this up, but this is the deduction made by myself and others, and the only one that makes sense with the ‘you’ve passed but not guaranteed an AC’ message.

Hi, thanks for the info! Do you know where I can find information you've referred to in regards to Narwest Markets? Previous forum? Do they usually get back to candidates later than other natwest schemes?

Again, thanks for your post.

No worries.

Not gonna lie, I’m not sure about Markets as last year it was a very different process to the rest of the programs within RBS/NatWest. So I can’t say the same above applies to it or that I know what the process is instead. Sorry :frown:
Was this for an internship or full time roll? Quant or technical specialist?

Hmmm with ac, do you think it will be online like mazars. With the pandemic, I don’t think they even conducted one AC this 2021 intake ? Correct me if I’m wrong

VIs are relatively easy for individuals with confidence and good interpersonal skills. For those that are more academic and less social, as many of the applicants are, it's a first look into their real world where their academics will only get them so far.

hmmm well I wouldn't call myself academically minded. im by no means extroverted but im definitely not shy going into an interview if theres another person there. the video interview, as bias I am for failing, does not replicate the feeling of a traditional interview
The VI in many ways I would argue, is easier than a traditional interview. Having a minute to prepare an answer is a gift not given in a face to face scenario. Plus, in many VI interviews the questions are almost identical and so, if rehearsed, one can give a more idealistic answer. Good performers in face to face interviews are likely to perform well in VIs. The VIs can also serve well to those who are less comfortable in a face to face setting because you're shielded from the possible negative cues you get from an interviewer which often throw candidates off.

If I had it my way, I would much prefer a face to face interview because personality (which is better showcased irl) can pay off an interviewers subconscious and increase you're likelihood of attaining the job. If ya know what I mean. But hey, VIs will suffice.
Are NatWest providing feedback reports on the online tests as they did in previous years? Has anyone received one?

I don’t think so. I'm sure I never received one.
Has anyone got an AC invite or just the email saying you’ve passed and they’re now shortlisting candidates?

I applied for Finance, London!

Hi. Congratulations on passing the Video Interview. I applied for the Finance Programme in London as well and submitted my Video interview around 4 weeks ago. I haven’t heard anything so far. I’m wondering if it means a rejection.

Coutts Asset Management. Just got an email saying I’ve passed VI and shortlisting for AC however, spaces are limited so they can’t guarantee a place. Not sure if they’ve started AC’s for this yet though.
