I was looking to apply for several unis outside london.
But a lot of advice came from people that , outer london maybe "racist" due to less diversity
Any advice ? or personal experiences would be helpful

Really? Someone told you that? Just because somewhere is not in London or has more ethnically English people does not automatically mean it is some hellhole where racially motivated crimes are the norm.

There will be racists wherever you go in life. This isn't the USA, don't let it affect your life decisions.

I used to live in london and when i moved, it was a bit of a shock seeing the lack of diversity (although i did move to a very white area) but in terms of safety and racism, i don't think it's any different to be honest.

There are coloured people everywhere, I mean maybe places like Exeter will be predominantly white but I don't think that's a problem since most people are good people and couldn't care less about your ethnicity. In the town I used to live in I was the only Asian person there and I didn't feel any sort of prejudice, I definitely felt "safe".
