Because sitting there staring at each other on a screen without saying anything is awkward?

People celebrate upwards of 40 years of marriage and don't run out of things to say and you're stuck at not even 18 months..

Not necessarily, facetime and in-person communication are different worlds.

I for one am much more comfortable in-person but on any kind of device I find it awkward whenever conversation stops, video calling included.

It's nothing.

So it’s nothing to worry about?

Not talking is completely different to chilling, and it's perfectly possible to have a companionable silence. Why not ask your boyfriend what he meant?

Can't really see the point of being on a video call if you're both just sat there in silence tbh, that's like being on a voice call and not saying a word to each other.

To be honest when I was on ft with my bf we'd sometimes have silences too not because we ran out of things to say. It was a comfortable silence, like sometimes I'd ask him why he was staring at me and he'd just say some cute stuff like he can't take his eyes off me. It can be awkward for your bf though, maybe he prefers to talk instead.

why wouldn't it be? What;'s the point of an ft just sit there in silence. might as well not have fted in the first place. doesn't matter how long you've been together, if he feels awkward then he feels awkward.
