Where does getting hit with a piece of wood fall on the pain scale?

Being very serious this time, so I checked my grammar beforehand.

Context: A buddy of mine got hit in the upper back of the head with a drumstick this morning. I'd say the drumstick hit his head at about 80 mph? Pretty fast and I heard a medium sound "bonk". Fella hardly shows emotion so when he started crying like a baby cause of it it was a bit concerning. I don't know if he was just bein a baby or was actually in a heap of pain. I've never gotten hit with one before so i'm quite curious as to how much that hurts. Where would it fall on the pain scale?

Meh, wood doesnt hurt that much compared to other things imo.

If it was unexpected it easily could have been the shock of the situation that had him in tears.

That sounds pretty painful to be honest an 80mph drumstick is going to carry some kinetic energy in it. Maybe nothing to cry over (who knows) but it certainly wouldnt be pleasant.

Wood hurts plenty and a drumstick probably has similar mass to a golfball.

I have been hit with a wooden cane before (not on the head though) - it hurts but it's not unbearable. It was probably the shock rather than the pain.

I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you are OK and are getting support/help if you need it.

I’m also sorry for questioning why you were on Anon. Some users misuse anon which is why I asked.

Happened to me, didn’t hurt as much because of adrenaline but my eyes flashed and I was dazed.
