So my dsa 2 letter came back with 36 hours for the year. I am in my final year doing a dissertation is it possible to get more hours does anyone know? I emailed my support person a draft of an assessment im working on and he billed already for 30 mins. I'm kinda worried I won't get enough support time

36 is a standard amount for a full time course, you d have to get assessed for more. Make the tutor aware if everything you have to work on this year and keep track so you ve plenty left for your dissertation but if they only claimed half an hour that's positive, shows they wont ever try to round it up.

If it looks like you may run out the of the support hours provided, you can go back to your disability advisor and request more in good time. They can sort this out for you. 36 hours seems okay and you have to remember that it’s up to you to follow the action point that arise in each session. If you find this hard, ask the tutor to email you or write them down.

Just like all needs aren’t the same, there isn’t a standard as such because the offer is bespoke. You don’t need a formal assessment so don’t worry about that. Just keep talking to your SS tutor and Disability Support person. All the best with it.
