I did a semi-intensive course. 4 hours over 4 and a half weeks. 40 hours total for £1040. I personally loved it, I had longer lessons which felt like I could get to grips with everything a bit more without having to constantly stop and start. I think it depends on if you have any experience already as well. I only had around 3 hours but that was mostly the basics of a manual car and like 40 mins of driving but even that helped a bit to speed up the intros!

I did automatic so that made me learn considerably quicker and I had more time to practice manoeuvres/general driving than getting used to the clutch. If you are doing manual you may want more than 40 hours! I have seen a lot about the pass in 5 days type of intensive course, I would have a think whether this is suitable as driving and learning for that long could be very tiring. My longest lesson was 3 hours lessons and that was probably the max I would want to do a day. I would suggest you first book an introduction course - many driving schools require this, these are a few hours long so you can get an idea of driving and the instructor before doing an intensive course. Good luck
