After 8 years of dominance by Mercedes and Hamilton, we have massive massive rule changes for this year which could drastically change the pecking order. Originally, there was going to be a complete overhaul of the sport in 2021 in order to make it more affordable and cars able to race closer together however, COVID screwed it up. Whilst the cost cap was still retained for 2021, the new technical changes will come into effect this year.
The major changes area return to ground effect cars for the 1st time since 1982, in addition to a ban on the extravagent suspension, bargeboards and cutout floors from 2017-2020. Also F1 will finally be switching to 18 inch rims (up from their 13 inch rims) and a completely new compound of tyre after Pirelli was forced to use the 2019 tyres for 3 years in a row due to negative feedback about the original 2020 tyres...and COVID. more parts will be standardised and in an effort to even the playing field, the aerodynamic handicap system introduced in 2021 will be more severe in 2022, with each team gaining 5% extra time to design their car the lower they finished in the 2021 championship. This means mercedes will only be allowed 28 hours a week to design their car and the last placed team will be allowed 46 hours a week to design their car,
is it me or does it look very bulbous around the halo mounting point? saying that, outlets have shruk / virtually non existent as a result of the re-introduction of the shark gills last seen in 2008
also dont know if it is the camera angle but the rear wing looks Mahoosive

McLaren have already said that they’ll be bringing upgrades to race one.
More and more I just consider the car launch events to be revealing the livery rather than the car.
Yea I consider them a livery reveal, anything exciting will be out of view, but I think it'll be exciting just seeing some more perspectives of the new generation of cars.
I suppose the other thing with F1 moving to an era where the venturi tunnels are going to be the focus of everyone efforts rather then barge boards we may not really see lots of the stuff which really differentiates the cars anyway.

That’s a good point. The first team to have their car lifted by a crane will be cursing I’m sure.

Haas have confirmed it's a livery reveal on a vf22 mule. Rumour has it it will be predominantly blue with red as the 2ndary colour.
Re development, its the floor as a whole rather than the tunnels. Also dont be too surprised to see cars using modified cape designs throughout the season
Something feels a bit off with the car. The sidepods and narrow nose are as predicted but the cockpit seems a bit high. Although kudos for them to stick with the pushrod front suspension.
Not a fan of the wide sidepods or the round inlets (latter of which I expect to see all teams use). Also the bit near the back of the halo is ugly - reminds me of the 310
Interesting to note that the haas and the AR mockup both show no waste gate pipes. Maybe ferrari hasn't decided on its placement yet
