With all these track limit violations maybe an easier way of handling it is a speed penalty, maybe the FIA can trigger something in the ECU which prevents fuel injection for like 1-2 seconds the next time you cross the start/finish line or something, this way their is no formal penalty but every track limit breach has a penalty… (this is just kind what happens if you do online racing and on Gran Turismo)

Also apparently Mclaren are giving Herta an FP1 drive this year, that must be a bit of blow to O’Ward who is an actual Mclaren driver…

I wouldn't mind it being automatic, but potentially a bit dangerous if another car is following closely. (A bit like clipping, but more unexpected.)

Yea, maybe out of a corner would be better. My thinking with giving the FIA control was that if a car was forced off the track they wouldn’t be unduly penalised but it would other then that defecto be automatically applied.
