Marcin Budowski is leaving Alpine with immediate effect

More evidence they've build a dud imo.

..

Vettel or Alonso at Mercedes would not be a shock. As patriotic and loyal to the academy as they are, they have proven themselves ruthless.

Sky sports reported several teams have expressed concerns with Masi (some before Abu Dhabi). Whilst it seems his position may be untenable I don’t know who else could replace him & id imagine promoting from within race control isn’t exactly great solution to resetting & improving as ultimately that was the same group of people who helped make the in race decisions all season.

He let the cars go out in qualifying when the crane was still out I’m pretty sure. That was a terrible thing to do. He isn’t competent enough to do the job.

I think, more than anything, masi needs support and people with him rather than be thrown under the bus, I’d stop broadcasting the fia radio and have some sort of ******** filter. Someone before masi who can filter out all stuff the race director doesn’t need to hear. For example from this filter out Wolf’s Barcelona message about Mazepin and complaining about the Abu Dhabi decison, filter out anything after the penalty from red bull in sikverstone etc. but things like can you take a look at this go through to Masi and then onto the stewards

I’m with you on Mercedes, I’d say they punt for Ocon or Bottas to come back, if that fails then why not try for Sebby?

They should go for Bottas because he’s experienced with the team which they need if Hamilton does decide to retire. I don’t think he will though.

Maybe they could try for Alonso, or more realistically, Pierre Gasly.

Gasly is good friends with Hamilton too, so Hamilton could choose Gasly to be his prodigy.

Lol why? To be honest who’d they use, that goes for all teams really

Merc use vesti I say
Ferrari and Haas use Robert S
McLaren use Pato
Red bull and AT use possibly Vips kr Lawson
Alpine use Piastri
Alfa use Pouchaire
?

Daruvula for Red Bull / AT maybe ?
Red bull have announced their Junior lineup for 2022 which means a lot of feeder series announcements

The red bull 2022 junior team is as follows
Jehan Daruvala
Denis Hauger
Juri Vips
Liam Lawson
Jak Crawford
Iyumu Iwasa
Jonny Edgar
Issac Hedjar
Yoto Nomura

Vips will race for Hitech in f2

Daruvala and Hauger make up the F2 prema lineup

Lawson will race for Carlin in f2 and Iwasa for DAMS

Edjar, Crawford and Hedjar will be in f3 for Trident, prema and Hitech respectively
Meanwhile Aston Martin will launch their f1 car on the 10th of Feb

Alcoholic isn't exactly an rb driver, rather an rb affiliate ie brought his way into the academy.
Vips and lawson will be the prioritises, with iwasu and Crawford next in line.
Intruigingly hauger is also an affiliate but doesn't change the fact him and alcoholic are likely to be running RB liveried premas this year.

Also the only way I see either of the prema drivers in an AT or rb for an fp session is if they beat lawson and vips comprehensively

Considering toto is in charge, it'd most likely be ocon or bottas as ocon and bottas are known quantities to merc and both have been managed by toto. An outside bet if Lewis prematurely retires sis vettel - mainly due to the fact that he is a German world champ and due to the fact Toto owns 5%ish of Aston Martin

Very interesting WEC news : Kamui kobayashi will not only be racing the number 7 car with Mike Conway and Jose Maria Lopez but Kamui is also going to be Toyota's WEC Team Principle.

Kolles have been kicked out of the championship this year.

Peugeot may not be able to race in le mans unless the complete either sering or Spa (a lot of people feel the latter is likely.

Porsche has also done their 1st laps in their Lmdh car which is supposedly going to be the basis of the audi and lambos
