Last night my mum texted me to come and take her washing down at her house. I haven’t passed my test yet so had to literally get a bus wait ages just for a 10 minute job. I had to wait 20 minutes and it was freezing then 20 minutes to get back.

Did you have to go? Is your mum unable to do small jobs like that herself?

Could she not have done it when she got home? I could understand you doing it if she was elderly or disabled meaning she physically couldn't do it, but I personally wouldn't have made that effort to do it for her if she was perfectly capable. If she forgets to bring her washing in before work then that's her problem.

I don't understand. Do you live together in that house? Was it your job hence why it was left for you?

If it's her own washing, at her own house, then surely she can just sort it out herself after work?

Can your mother drive? Why couldn't someone pick it up from you and take it to her? Are you her carer? Perhaps next time you could simply refuse.
