My doctor sent an urgent referral to mind, how long will it take? He said one week and it has been 5 days since but what is the maximum wait for urgent referral? Shall I call them?

It could be worth phoning your GP and asking for an update on the status of your referral.

They’ll just tell me to wait. I have contacted mind and maybe they could tell me.

Mind are run as a franchise. Services vary hugely between local branches so there is no way of knowing.

Ring your local Mind

The other unknown is waiting lists at most services are growing. Hang in there.

NHS urgent referrals for MH are about 2 weeks. Usually less depending on risk in my experience. Charity sector will likely differ though.

I just hope urgent is actually urgent and not more than 2 weeks. Thanks I will.
I’m just really impatient and just dying to get better. But I guess I have to just deal with it

I know about the nhs one but was wondering about mind. Possibly longer as it’s based on donations

Yeah, I mean your local mind may have a website that you can access and it might give you some information, but your best bet is phoning them! I hope you get what you need soon.

Speak to the GP again and tell him mind said you hadn't been referred.
