Yes - I actually think one of the teachers at my school did something like this for a first degree

Yes you can!

There's a few maths teachers knocking about who didn't do a degree in straight maths. My brother had one who did Econ.

As long as your degree has a sensible amount of bio it should be fine. There are also SKE Courses - (Subject Knowledge Enhancement) which help get you up to speed in the subject you want to teach.
