I wish to go 2 university and study perhaps computer science, mechanical engineering, software engineering.

Would an access to higher education diploma be a smarter route into university?

Hi there. Do you have access to a careers advisor? May be you could speak to one at a local college who could advise more. Also, have a look at some university websites and perhaps speak with them about options - different universities may have slightly different requirements for similar courses. I left school without A levels but went on to get a degree and later an MSc, so it definitely can be done! Take care and stay safe.

How old are you and what qualifications do you have?

Normally to get to uni you need GCSE English and Maths + level 3 qualifications equivalent to A levels.

IB, 3 A levels, BTEC, Access course, Pre U.

You need to check the entry requirements for each course at your traget unis and they will state the grades.
They are most likely to expect relevant science A levels and Maths.

You can speak to National careers.
