October is Black History Month. Over the next few weeks, TSR aims to increase visibility of Black stories and help to educate users about Black stories and experiences. To help do this, we've put together a list of great resources you may find useful to help you learn more about Black History. We know that there are loads of resources out there, so if you know of any that we haven't got on our lists, please share them. This thread is all about good books to read.
Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them? Are there any you can recommend?

It's a modern text, but I would recommend the young adult novel The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. The books themes are very topical right now. The novel's inciting incident involves the 16 year old protagonist witnessing her childhood best friend being shot by a police officer.
