Passed the assessments and interview today! Thank you all for help!
Although, I could have been given a heads up about the people who assess at the first bit, the ones who aren’t allowed to smile at us. Haha threw me off a little. 🤣

Congratulations!!!!! How was it? Apart from the non smiley people!
I really want to know what they asked in the interview and also how was the roleplay?
Well done again!!!

The interview went well for me I think I got lucky as lady who did mine was extremely nice. Everyone there was actually really really nice.
Why do you want to work the London Met?
How have you prepared for this interview today? (Threw me off a little)
Give an example of a time where you found an easier way of doing something?
Give me an example of when you took ownership and used your own initiative?
A time you’ve had to challenged someone?

I am pretty sure the rotate questions and not everyone gets the same questions

I structure my examples in the STAR format and you’d have to give specific examples.

Thanks! Did they ask specifically about the met values and competencies? or did u just mention them

For mine, the only time a value was brought up specifically when she asked “A time you’ve had to challenged someone?” (Integrity)
But I feel like even if they don’t mention it blatantly, the way you answer the question should incorporate the values

From what most were saying at the Hendon site, SSL (the company that does the vetting) is pretty backed up atm, so I’d say just keep an eye out on your emails.

A couple of ppl in here found the email regarding the vetting in their junk mail, so maybe try checking there

Hi there. I have passed the interview stage and the last thing I have to do is a maths and English multi skills test. Could you give me an idea of what type of questions they might ask please? Particularly the maths and also if you were allowed to use a calculator. Thank you x

Hey, after I had my interview I was told there would be a medical first and then the vetting checks. However this is for the Met in London so I’m not sure if that’s where you’ve applied. The whole process is going to take another 2 months!

I’m applying for the position of Force Control Room Call Handler, I am a confident, calm, and composed person who very much prefers to work in a team environment where an ability to work under pressure is vital.
Previously, I have worked in roles where I have needed to use strong communication skills regularly whilst also demonstrating high levels of professionalism. I feel strongly I have an abundance of transferrable skills that will enable me to perform well in this role.

I understand, that in this position, there comes a huge amount of responsibility, and there is no margin for error whilst performing my duties. I am certainly ready for the challenge and will demonstrate a total commitment to professionalism, integrity, and continual learning and development in the role.

I would like to be a Force Control Room Call Handler, specifically because it will allow me to deepen my knowledge of practice and policy, and build valuable confidence, and resilience. Having worked hard to gain training, knowledge, and employment experience in the field of care. I am aware of both how challenging and rewarding it can be as Force Control Call Handler. Begin given the opportunity to turn my aptitude for caring for others into a career has already allowed me to make a positive impact on the lives of others. I prefer to work under pressure and I enjoy begin accountable for ensuring strict rules and procedures are followed. I also want to work in a close-knit team where everyone depends on each other to achieve the objectives of the organization in regards to serving the public and keeping them safe.

There are numerous qualities needed to be competent in the role of a Force Control Call Handler, including exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and also the understanding of how important it is to embrace change within the role and the organization. I can remain calm and composed at all times, operate with the utmost integrity, and also demonstrate compassion and empathy whilst dealing with difficult and sensitive situations and incidents.

My previous experience as a Health Care Assistant in Accident and Emergency dealt with members of the public in a high-pressured environment. Dealing with distressed, violent & aggressive patients and relatives on occasion. Working within a multidisciplinary team, providing support and ability to perform delegated tasks to contribute to expediting treatment for presenting medical conditions. Under supervision assisting the multidisciplinary team in delivering individualized planned patient care in a safe and healthy environment aiming to avoid unnecessary admission to hospital, which promotes equality for all individuals.

Many of the patients would be understandably distressed and I found that my ability to stay calm and talk to them as individuals allowed me to play a valuable role in their treatment. I have progressed rapidly during my career I have found additional responsibility has allowed me to play a fuller role in delivering patient care, and this has motivated me to meet any challenges ahead. As someone with excellent communication skills, who enjoys listening and taking time with each of the patients I have worked with has defiantly guided me towards this career.
