Hey, after I had my interview I was told there would be a medical first and then the vetting checks. However this is for the Met in London so I’m not sure if that’s where you’ve applied. The whole process is going to take another 2 months!

I’ve submitted my vetting now  just waiting for it to come back - no idea how long it will take

Hi! Congratulations on passing your interview!
So the medical assessment is initially a questionnaire form which you’ll receive via your met account/email. You’ll have to list any medical conditions and/or medication you take. It’s best to be completely transparent as if they find out something hasn’t been mentioned, it can be viewed as dishonest.
Thereafter you may be invited to a medical assessment, where they do generic tests on your hearing and sight. It’s okay if you wear glasses etc
If they require further info after the medical, you’ll get a letter sent to you asking for GP notes etc.

Mine took 3 months so far! Hope this helps!

Are you going to be a police officer or a 999 call handler?

The 999 call handler!

Oh right! I don’t think you need to worry about your glasses. You do a eye test with the glasses/contacts on :-)

Fantastic news! And what about what’s left of my head of hair, do they do the routine drug test for COs?

I don’t know about any drug tests I’m afraid. and I don’t understand what you mean about your hair lol

I thought they drug tested anyone who joined the met in any position. Seems not then and the test can come either urine test, saliva or hair test - in the hair test the take some of your hair to obviously test it ! - hope that helps but sounds like u didn’t go through that so they don’t test COs.
Thanks for your help! At least I’ll be okay to pass the sight test eventhough I wear glasses thank you for putting my mind at ease

Hello, what did you have to do for the verbal reasoning?

passed the three-stage in-person assessment day at Hendon.

Next stop for me is the medical, vetting and references - will take a while I guess.

If this is for London Met CC then it sounds like you’ve been offered a conditional offer at this stage. Quite strange because right after my interview at
assessment center in Hendon they told me if I had passed in person. (so yes you’ve passed the interview) you’ll start the role once vetting and medical checks are completed.

The role you’ve applied for, is it a London Met Communications Officer Role? Did you do your in person interview at Hendon?
