HEY
currently in year 11 and i am struggling with picking an a level or b-tec bc nothing interests me that much at all. The only thing i could see myself doing is business management at uni. (i like the idea of being in an office sometimes and other times socialising and being at meetings) idk??? So i could take business a level. business triple vocational a level sounds better to me bc i hate exams but the thing is, i am way too scared to do that bc i might change my mind about doing business so i don't want business being my only option after i leave college. BUT ITS NOT LIKE I HAVE ANY OTHER OPTIONS THAT I LIKE!!!! UGH anyway pls bare with me and keep reading... so can you pls tell me some interests or qualities you might need to take this a level? also what do i do if i really have nothing that interests me ? what do i do at college? for any one who answers thank you so much in advance

Hi, I'm a year 13 student taking ctec business, although I'm not sure it will be much help to you since my course can slightly differ from btec courses. If business is what interests you I'd definitely say go for it, the tricky part is what you're saying about exams, I chose a ctec because I also hate exams, but I think it's also important to ensure you check the uni requirements for places you may be thinking about (I know it seems early but sixth form is honestly jam packed so it's best to get started asap), since some are a bit funny about accepting certain qualifications (annoying, I know). I think that pickiness comes more with RG universities though. Looking at a triple does seem a bit concentrated, as you've said, if business isn't all that you hope for, it'd be good to have some other options to turn to. Maybe subjects like sociology or law would be good? I don't do them, but I feel like they'd go well with a business A level (if that's what you choose). In the long run it's up to you, whether you're looking to go into uni or an apprenticeship after year 13 could hopefully help you in your decision making (you may find you like the idea of an apprenticeship more than university). Sorry for this being really long, I'm quite indecisive myself, so I don't want you to think I'm pushing you to do anything. (Also I can't say that I enjoy business, again, I chose it to have a little less exam weight on my shoulders, I think you need an interest in research and a lot of making links to this and that to enjoy it, plus, if you have an idea for a business you'd like to start one day, it'll definitely help you gain some insight)
