I'm not at uni yet but I have been threatened with visits from my little Brother and his Mum every weekend...Joy.

My parents only come up if there's a purpose - e.g. to see me in a concert, or if they're on their way somewhere and Cambridge is en route. They've never been "just because" and I don't mind that - there's not really that much to do with them. My sister came for the weekend once, but that's it. I might have my friend come next term, but nobody from my old school has been over. But then I haven't been to see them, so it's entirely mutual

My ex-boyfriend had quite a few visits when he was in his first year. I went up quite a few times (we were still together then, although I have also been to visit him since we broke up) and his family went up a few times. I think his friend who was on a gap year may have visited as well.

I wouldn't know personally - haven't got there yet! But I doubt anyone will come and visit me unless I get myself a boyfriend between now and September! (please God!!!!)

My parents are not allowed to anywhere I live....hence all they know is I am in Plymouth and don't know my specific address.

Friends are cool but as yet they haven't been up. Maybe this term.

Yeah it is always funny to target flatmates whose parents are visiting though! Make sure you embarrass them at every opportunity!!

as i've said before, hiding copies of the 'mature' porn magazine "40-plus" under a flatmate's bed sheet when you know their parents are visiting and are going to be changing the sheets does wonders for the sense of humour

oh, I'm an oddity then! :p:

parents usually visit 2/3 times a term. normally for specific things - birthdays/watching sporting events/formal hall etc. (but, i am an only child, so perhaps they're easing themself gently into the whole me leaving home thing.. )

with regards to friends, i normally have a visit a term, something like that - more around my birthday!
