Once, otherwise you'd be subtracting 2 from 48, from 46.....

    An easy one to start.

I am only one letter, but two make my name.
My first is in leaping, but never in lame.
My second has two parts - a base and a head.
It's found in my pillow, but not in my bed.
A third could be added, but as you shall see,
My whole is a number that isn't quite three.
    What am I?

    A little harder...

My first is in second, but never in third.
My second is twice in a sound seldom heard.
My third is in drink (shaken, not stirred)
My last is a vowel you can't find in a word.
My whole joins with fairy to make something nice
So tell me my name, or you don't get a slice!

And of course, my favourite riddle =D

What's big, red, and eats rocks?
