I'm applying to Oxford to do a MSt in English and would love to see some successful statements of purpose - any ideas on where to find examples?

You might have already seen this but Oxford's Careers Service offer some advice on writing personal statements/statements of purpose for further study on their website at https://www.careers.ox.ac.uk/persona...ollapse1543471. There's some really good guidance in there as to what to include in the statement.

There's also an advice post at https://medium.com/my-oxford/writing...t-8dfc94f732f2 which contains some advice from Oxford students. I also found an advice video by an Oxford student where she goes through her successful statement (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUsrpIB0hOM) as well as one featuring some general advice from the university themselves (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy4bEL85mDU).

My advice when writing a personal statement/statement of purpose for Masters study would be to look at the advice and follow it but don't try to mirror specific templates or wording - your personal statement should be a reflection of you and should demonstrate your passion and commitment to your chosen course of study, and your eagerness and enthusiasm for studying it at your chosen university.

Hope that helps and good luck!

Amy
